UNISPACE AUCKLAND OFFICE

I was the lead designer for Unispace head office in Auckland in HSBC House. I was involved in leading the workplace strategy, concept development, documentation detailing, new product development and overseeing construction delivery of this project. This workplace was a spearhead in the development of modern agile workplaces, and at 450m2 grew with the business taking it from 22 staff up to 55 people when we finally moved to a larger office with barely any furniture changes. This is implemented by a change of behaviour and staff not ‘owning’ a desk, but moving around the office as their activity suited a different type of environment. The space was full of variety and choice.
HEB CONSTRUCTION Auckland &Tauranga

I was the lead designer for HEB’s new head office in Wiri, Auckland. I was involved in leading the workplace strategy, concept development, documentation detailing, new product development and overseeing construction delivery of this project. This company migrated from a building that I described as post cold war chic. A sullen concrete structure with high level windows only that you couldn’t see out of, full of single offices and dark corridors. I migrated them, in a transformative business move, to the old Honda factory in Wiri. This new environment was completely unassigned and open, with plenty of bump space and natural light. The big win for me was when people introduced themselves to each other on day one in the new space, only to find out- they had both been in the business for over 5 years!
BP HEAD OFFICE

I was the lead designer for BP’s head office in Remuera, Auckland. I was involved in leading the workplace strategy, concept development, documentation detailing, new product development and overseeing construction delivery of this project. The base building was a disconnected 2 level tenancy whose floors connected only via fire stairs. I proposed cutting a bold new stair from L1 reception to the upper work floor to create connection and collaboration.
CUBRO

I was the lead designer for Cubro’s offices in Tauranga. I was involved in leading the workplace strategy, concept development, documentation detailing, new product development and overseeing construction delivery of this project. I worked closely with the base building architect to affect changes to the structure of the building prior to construction, to optimise the use of spaces.
BANNOCKBURN LODGE

I designed and remodelled 2 boutique self contained accommodation units inside my lodge on the side of the Dunstan cycle track in Bannockburn,
Cromwell. The top unit was converted from a home office space with the addition of a kitchenette and bathroom, and the lower was an apartment which
converted to boutique accommodation. I understand the needs of travelers and the attention to details that make their stay a great one.
TPT Forests

I was the lead designer for TPT’s offices in Tauranga. I was involved in leading the workplace strategy, concept development, documentation detailing, new product development and overseeing construction delivery of this project. I creatively incorporated wood based products such as acoustic wood wool, timber slats and lights to bring the clients product into the workplace.
VANGUARD

I was the lead designer for Vanguards offices in Lower Hutt. I was involved in leading the workplace strategy, concept development, documentation detailing, new product development and overseeing construction delivery of this project. I worked alongside the base building construction to include elements of the interior fitout right from early on in the project. This early engagement bypassed a lot of expensive swap outs and undoing base building flaws.
SKYLINE ENTERPRISES – QUEENSTOWN

I was the lead designer for Skyline Enterprises head office in Queenstown. I was involved in leading the workplace strategy, concept development and construction delivery of this project. I worked very closely with the key stakeholders to create a space that reflected the spirit of fun and positivity Sky- line. The booth seating was designed to look like gondolas and the hex shape was repeated in various formats around the space.
BOUNDARYLINE

I was the lead designer for Boundaryline office in Auckland. I was involved in leading the workplace strategy, concept development and construction delivery of this project. Boundaryline provides fencing solutions for gardens and industry. I looked at trying to create a space that brought the outside in and used some of their actual product in creative ways in the office space
ARCHANT

I was the lead designer for Archant’s office in Hastings. This is an ongoing project which is now to be housed in a winery conversion.
NEWTECH

I was the lead designer for Newtech’s office in Wanganui. I was involved in leading the workplace strategy, concept development and construction de- livery of this project. Boundaryline provides fencing solutions for gardens and industry. Newtech makes bathroom products and I looked to bring the feeling a water and fluidity into the space. The bathrooms were a focal point of the space to showcase their own products.
TURNER HOPKINS

I was the lead designer for Turner Hopkins Lawyers’ office in Takapuna, Auckland. I was involved in leading the workplace strategy, concept development and construction delivery of this project. This project was completed using almost entirely existing furniture and base building contributions of carpet and paint, lighting and ceilings. It’s a testament to what is able to be achieved with creativity on a tiny budget.
ARROW UNIFORMS

I was the lead designer for Arrow Uniforms office in Silverstream, Lower Hutt. I was involved in leading the workplace strategy, concept development and construction delivery of this project. I worked alongside the base building Architect and construction to include elements of the interior fitout right from early on in the project. Arcon were the fitout contractors and did an amazing job of working for Arrow as their advocates. The base building works were quite challenging to keep on top of as they made their own decisions without informing us of their cost saving and plan changes, which lead to plan discrepancies. Arcon and I were able to hold them to task and uphold client expectations to ensure their vision wasn’t compromised. Its very important to have the right team on your project who have your back.
Riverlea Hamilton

I was the lead designer for Riverlea in Hamilton. I was involved in leading the workplace strategy, concept development and construction delivery of this project. I worked alongside the base building Architect and construction to include elements of the interior fitout right from early on in the project and ensure the base build was fit for purpose. design from the inside out if you like.
I-Line designed the building and constructed both the base building and interior.
